Artist feature

alt-collections:

Since this blog is kind of intended for me to extend out to other artists and stuff, I kinda feel like making an artist feature every now and then. It only makes sense :P

pluuuss it’ll give me something to do this uneventful summer I am having so far (and maybe get me back into my creative moods)

Gonna try to get back into the habit of doing these. Summers seem to kill my creativity

Artist Feature: Theo Gosselin

Theo’s photographs are the epitome of narrative photography. Every photo that he produces has so much feeling and depth, I feel like I’m in the same room as people being photographed.

His style and emotion portrayed through his photography is exactly how I would like to document and photograph my life. It’s just perfect. I seriously recommend looking through all of Theo’s work, you won’t regret it.

To see more of Theo’s work, check out his website or follow him on flickr

Artist Feature: Lou Noble (a.k.a. Lou O’ Bedlam)

Lou is probably one of my most favourite portraitists on flickr. The majority of his work revolves around beautiful women and the clean and perfect photos he makes with them. He also shoots produces many of his photographs on medium format film - something I can’t wait to get my hands on in school.

Based out of Los Angeles, Lou lives and breathes photography in every form. Polaroid, medium format, or digital, he takes a camera with him everywhere he goes — which is probably why he has some of the most magnificent portraits to show. Every single portrait he produces captivates me and gives off the most unique mood and atmosphere.

I’ve been following Lou ever since I started on flickr, and each and every one of his photographs can be easily recognized because of their distinct style. If you want to learn a thing or two about portraiture, see for yourself.

Artist Feature: Alex Stoddard

Alex is the person that motivated me to start making these features in the first place. I’ve seen one or two of his shots before but it wasn’t until today that I actually looked in to all the work he’s produced. Last month he finished his first 365 project and is getting a lot of recognition for his photographs and his growth as a photographer.

I don’t know if I’d be able to stick with a project like that and produce something completely new and original every day, but he did.

The thing that I enjoy most about his style is that it isn’t limited to one specific area of photography; Alex can do it all. If you seriously want to see improvement in photography, shoot as much as you can. Alex’s 365 is a perfect example.

You can see the rest of his 365 set here and his other work on flickr.
